Halloween

Time never slows down. I just have one week left of working from home and then off to day care Quincy goes. I wish we were lucky enough to be able to stay home with her all the time, but our finances just don’t allow for that right now. Maybe in the next year or so when we have bills paid off. Today is Halloween and Quincy is going to be an Octopus and Lillie is going to be a Witch. I made Q’s costume because I couldn’t find anything that I liked at all to buy. So I spent about $10 on supplies and re used a used outfit and made her into a octopus! Lillie is re using an old dress from a few years ago and we got her a cool cloak and a wig (that is already a rat’s nest!) Here are pictures then I will let you know how I made Q’s.

Ok so there are the pictures… I am going to take more of Q tonight, but Lillie went back to her mom’s for the week we always hate to see her go! She is the most amazing little girl!

Now onto how I made Q’s costume 1) buy 4 pairs of socks matching or not ours are from the dollar store. 2) take fabric paint and put dots on the bottoms of all of the socks like the octopus’s suction cups. 3) take 3 pairs of the socks and stuff them. 4) stitch the 3 pairs of socks onto a head band like a sweat band ours is made by wilson and cost $2. 5) re use some a pair of footed pants (I used a pair given to us that were kind of ugly they had mouse feet and the top had a mouse on it [not my cup of tea]) so stitch the last pair of socks over the legs of the footed pants. 6) I made a pink octopus to put over the mouse on the shirt with stitch witchery. And last but not least number 7) take a had (one from the hospital) and paint some big eyeballs onto it. There you go less than $10 and she is going to be the cutest octopus on the block. All we have to do is put on I can’t wait to take her to all of her grandparents and her great grandparents houses and do some trick or treating!

Lillie

Lillie has started basketball again. She is point guard this year! Watching her play sports is so much fun. I can’t wait for Quincy to join her on the field or court! Here are some pictures.

Lillie loves crazy socks! Sean doesn’t like them, but I always am looking for her new socks to play sports in. She loves them! This weekend she sported the red white and blue socks that I found for her in Reno. Next week I bet she wears the heart ones that I found for her.

Month 2 Quincy’s Firsts

First Vacation:
We went to Reno last weekend leaving October 21st and returning on Monday the 24th. It was Quincy’s first vacation. She was a TROOPER she slept the entire way there minus eating and burping time and then in the hotel she slept through the night mostly and just woke up to eat and went right back to bed. She slept in her little tent with the air mattress under it. It is the greatest invention EVER! It is all attached an looks like a little pop up tent but for babies.

First Smile:
Q started smiling for real smiles on October 18th. I caught her first smile on camera on October 21st. Her little smile just melts my heart! She is so F’n adorable! Now we are going to have to start watching our mouths! Uho her first word might be what Lillie’s first word was… yup that is it. Lillie’s first was the f’bomb! woops…

First Halloween
Yup it is her first Halloween with her first costume and her first carved pumpkin! I had to help her a bit with her pumpkin this year but they turned out great. For her first Halloween she was an octopus!

Almost a month

I know it has been almost a month since Miss Q entered this world and I have been slacking on the posts! I know I know… I hope to be better, but with just a little in between working, feeding, changing, playing here we are.

So here is the birth story.

I went to my 39 week check up and up until this point everything was right on target. The week prior I had some strange pains that felt like and elephant was sitting on my lungs. I attributed it to just being pregnant, but it was Quincy spinning in my stomach. She decided that she wanted to come out feet first! So at my 39 week check up on a Tuesday the doctor discovered her protest and after an ultra sound he decided that they would try to flip her manually. To my excitement (can you detect the sarcasm in my typing?) they scheduled me for Wednesday at noon to see if the doctors could push her back to the proper launching position. Two doctors and a nurse held me down and tried to push her around, but she is a strong stubborn little bugger and protested the move. They failed and scheduled a C-Section for the next day, September 8th, at 7 in the morning. This was her actual due date! So at 40 weeks we went under the knife and feet first Quincy came into this world!

We were in the hospital for 4 days but that time just flew by. Lots of Awesome people came and saw us. Mom was there ecstatic to see her new granddaughter!

The surgery went very well and I recovered really quick! That very night I was allowed to get up and get out of the room and to the amazement of the nursing staff I walked down to the nursery and saw Quincy get her first bath.

I also had a ton of fun taking pictures of our new addition! I really wanted cute pictures of her in the hospital so I snapped away. I am so glad that Sean bought a super duper crazy camera that takes amazing pictures! Here are a few of my favorites from the first couple days.

We are all adjusting well and rely on Grandma’s a lot to help with some of the load. We are very lucky that my mom moved here to Meridian and are so happy to have her here with us in this adventure!

I promise more will come later and I can’t wait to get the pictures back from the professional photographer and get announcements out to everyone.

The Room

Ok Ok I know I have probably done too much, but I really want everything to look cute and fun in the baby’s room! So this weekend Lillie, Sean and I made Pennants! They are stinking cute and they were WAY too easy to make. More will be made in the future. For sure. Here are some pictures.

Brag TIME!!!

Sean and I are SO FREAKING PROUD!!! Lillie made her first competitive softball team last week! There were try-out’s and she was all nervous and stressed about making the team. It was so cute. Sean called to let her know she made the team and she was so excited! It gives me goose bumps just to think about it!!! I can’t WAIT for the season to start next year and I am glad that they have a small winter program that we are going to put her into as well so she will be practicing and playing softball all winter long. We are VERY excited. This week I am going to put together a congratulations basket for her. I am going to put some sunflower seeds in there, some big chew bubble gum, some new softballs, and whatever else I can think of… Mom is going to throw in some home made cookies too! It is so exciting! I know Sean loved every minute watching her try out. He knows one of the coaches which makes it even better. We are looking forward to her making her break from the city league to a more competitive.
